I was both shocked and disappointed by the attitude of the male owner during my recent visit. We were excited to try the Ayam Penyet, especially since we had the option to choose our preferred chicken parts. However, when we ordered 4 sets with all thigh meat, the male owner rudely refused and insisted we could only have two thighs and two breast pieces. Even when we offered to order the thighs separately, he maintained that it was not allowed, despite there being an ample supply of thigh meat available. What added to the frustration, there was a sign in the stall stating, "Take it or Leave it," which further explains the rigid and unaccommodating approach of the service. This experience left us feeling unwelcome and disappointed, especially considering the expectations wasn't customer-centric. It's unfortunate that such a policy ruined a pleasant meal.

Tried LA Porpo @ Bendemeer food centre. Order Nasi Sambal Geprek (red fiery chillis) and Nasi Sambal Loca (green chillis). $6 each. Both chicken tasted alright, could improve on the chicken seasoning. Green color rice was done well and fragrant. But the blue colored rice was under cook and tasteless. Red sambal is fiery, beware. Service is fast and friendly. Price is fair.

I am so glad to chance upon this - not knowing they have moved to this location. It is by far the best Ayam Penyet I have eaten. The chicken is piping hot from the frying wok, crispy on the outside and so chewy and juicy inside. The fried fish is done so perfectly with the right amount of moisture still retained within. To me, the fried fish (which can be ordered aka carte) goes so well with the kampung porridge. I am definitely going to come back again and again.

This is hands down one of the best Ayam Penyet I ever had. Please go and try it for yourself. I happened to be around the vicinity and saw the positive reviews. Decide to give it a try. The boss is very friendly and smiling took his time to explain to me his signature dishes. He explained what special ingredient goes into the food, example pandan rice and special chilli into some of his sauces. So kind and nice. Such excellent service is hard to come by, much less in a hawker. The meat is succulent, juicy and tender. Outside is crispy. Each comes with a small bowl of soup. When eaten with the pandan rice and sambal… it’s incredible. I really wanted to walk up to the boss and thank him for it. To be honest, this is much better than many restaurants out there, in terms of food quality, and service. When I left, the wife smiled at me too. More people should come try it and it deserves a 10 stars. Proud to have tried the food. Highly recommended! 🌟🌟🌟

Made another trip down to Bendemeer Hawker Centre again last week as I was dying to try out the stall La Porpo that someone recommended. I went for the Chicken Loco which has the lowest spiciness level for their sauce. The picture you see is that of a dish which I was already biting into before remembering to snap a pic. The rice was fragrant and the fried chicken was extremely succulent. It really hits the spot and leaves me a satisfied man. Well worth the $6. If your preference is something more spicy, they have the sauces to match your taste as well.
