The food taste is no longer tasty like many years back, order for Ayam Bakar Kicap he just fried the chicken and dump the chilli sauce on the fried chicken. Not worth the $7 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

If u r going to order anything apart from the ayam penyet, you will be disappointed. Even the ayam penyet is mediocre at best. Nasi Goreng Kampung tatsed like white rice with lots of chilli. Just spicy but totally tasteless. And not even a single ikan bilis. Weekends hard to find table as tables are taken up by domestic helpers chatting away the whole day.

Ordered the bubur kampong and it was horrible. The ratio of the porridge to the sides were not equal— too little sides. It came with sambal kangkong (which was too sweet, peanuts (had a pungent taste, like its old), cai po, ikan bilis and half of a salted egg. Usually bubur kampung in other shops also comes with sambal belacan and salted fish, but for $6, this shop doesnt come with it. The porridge came topped with fried shallots which was so pungent, like as if it was overfried and burnt. The kangkong was made to order, but the person servicing the orders cooked it so slowly. I was also in line next door to get lontong and banana fritters, and that was served before he was done with the bubur. Looking at the reviews, they might be good for penyet. But will never come again for the bubur.

Often go to the stall when I crave Javanese-style fried chicken or Ayam Penyet. It's rather pricy ($7-7.5) but the portion size is decent. If you want to have the juicier part of the chicken, you can ask for the thigh instead of breast. Above-average and authentic sambal too. Note that the stall doesn't accept Paylah, the shop owner seems to be stuck in cash-only age.
